Waffle Flower Crafts May Release Blog Hop

Hello friends!! Welcome to the Waffle Flower May Release Blog Hop! I’m happy to be hopping with the folks from Waffle Flower to show you all the fun new stuff awaiting you on the Waffle Flower website! Be sure to check out each stop in today’s blog hop for fun, inspiration, and chances to win some of these new release goodies!

The card I’m sharing features some of the adorable new bee themed products, namely the Happy Bee Die, the Hexagon Texture Die and the Happy Bee Day Combo.

To create this card I first die cut the base for the bee bodies out of white cardstock with the Happy Bee Die Set. I then ink blended over the bodies with Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade and Rusty Hinge Distress Ink and then colored the cheeks with a copic marker. Next, I die cut the stripy detail layers out of brown cardstock, then ink blended the sides in Ground Espresso Distress Ink and then adhered them to their bases. I then die cut the bases out of black cardstock to create black eyes and mouths. I then added a piece of micropore tape to the backside of the bees and then inlaid the black eyes and mouths. Lastly, I die cut the wings for all the bees out of glittery white cardstock and then adhered them to the bees.

Next, I die cut some Kraft cardstock with a die from the new Nesting Rounded Rectangles Die Set. I then die cut the panel with the new Hexagon Texture Die and the hexagon die from the Window Trio Die Set. Next, I die cut a matching second rounded rectangle out of white cardstock and then ink blended over the panel with Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade and Rusty Hinge. I then adhered the Kraft panel over blended one with foam adhesive.

Next, I adhered and A2 panel of cream cardstock to the front of an A2 top-folding white card base and then adhered the dimensional panel on top. I then stamped a sentiment from the Happy Bee Day Stamp Set in Ground Espresso onto white cardstock. I then die cut the sentiment out with the matching die and then adhered the sentiment and the bees to the card front.

Next, I fussy cut some honey drips out of white cardstock. I then ink blended the drips with Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade and Rusty Hinge. Next, I adhered the drips to my card front and then finished the card by adding glossy accents over the drips.

  1. Your card is a total delight! Or a bee-light? I really like the espresso ink – much nicer than black on this card!

  2. Cute card! I didn’t know you could use Copic markers over Distress Inks, but I will certainly be doing that from now on! Great job!

  3. This is such a cute card, Channin! I love the cover die background, I love that the WF bees are really cute — not all bees are created equal by craft companies, let’s face it. These are adorable! Love this whole release, actually. TFS!
